Heat Sentry
McLeod Heat Sentry
A really great window has to be able to do two things well: keep the heat in when it's cold outside, and keep the cool in during the summer months. The optional McLeod Heat Sentry Glazing System does just that and more.
Using a combination of high quality insulating glass, Low Emissivity (Low-E) technology, Argon Gas filling and the revolutionary new Super Spacer®, the Heat Sentry Glazing System assures maximum comfort, reduced energy costs and virtually condensation-free windows year round.
Heat Sentry Argon Gas Filling
Argon Gas, when used with Low-E coating, can dramatically increase your windows' insulating R-Value. A safe, colourless and odourless gas, Argon acts as a thermal insulator when injected into the Glazing system.
Both the optional Heat Sentry Low-E and Heat Sentry Argon Gas are available on all McLeod windows.
Heat Sentry Low-E Glass Coating
During the winter, Low-E coating prevents a large amount of your expensive furnace- generated heat from escaping through the glass. It allows free winter solar heat to enter your home, further reducing cold areas and heating costs.
In the summer, Low-E coating reduces both direct and re-radiated heat that normally passes through glass.
This means that you'll be more comfortable, you'll save on energy costs associated with cooling, and fading of carpets, curtains and fabrics will be reduced.
Super Spacer® Sealed

All McLeod windows are Super Spacer® sealed.
When it comes to minimizing condensation and providing long-term durability, nothing performs better than the Super Spacer® insulating spacer bar. With an advanced all-silicone foam and dual seal design, it delivers on the promise of true warm edge technology.
Super Spacer® not only boosts perimeter performance, it can help enhance overall window R-values up to 30%.

Super Spacer Premium Plus...
North America's Benchmark insulating glass spacer for the past 12 years.
For over twelve years, Super Spacer® Premium Plus has set the standard that all others are compared to - even other Super Spacer products. As part of the True Warm™ line of products, Premium Plus has the longest track record of any thermoset spacer on the market today.
Super Spacer Premium Plus is extruded as a high-quality silicone foam tape. Silicone is well known for its superior resistance to ozone, sunlight and oxidation and is very color stable. It also maintains excellent flexibility at low temperatures, has outstanding resistance to high heat and has a low compression set.

- Smooth, matte finish guaranteed against blistering and bubbling
- Thermoset foam matrix
- Proprietary multi-layer vapor barrier
- Acrylic structural adhesive

Outstanding Durability
Super Spacer Premium Plus features the largest foam and acrylic adhesive footprint of all thermoset spacers. Combined with a high-tech adhesive, Premium Plus delivers the highest wind load resistance and greatest glazing pressure resistance. IG units with Premium Plus and hot-melt butyl spacer have passed over 125 weeks of P-1 durability testing. One week spent in a P-1 chamber has been considered by the industry experts to represent the equivalent of one year of field performance. Standard Super Spacer backed with hot-melt butyl passes at least 60 weeks in the P-1 chamber.
